In my opinion, you can never have too many coats. I would have a new coat for every day of the year if I could afford such a lavish lifestyle. There is something so deeply wonderful about a new coat: from the way it fits and looks, to the way it just completes an outfit. I have coats for all seasons but my favourite kinda coat is a winter one; this is when coats really come into their own.
A while back in the balmy autumn that we were having, I was picking out winter coats. The guys at Parka London let me loose on their rails one particularly sunny afternoon when I came across the next addition to my wardrobe. It was love at first try on. The Ida Essential Parka was the one, with its simple silhouette and snug as a bug fit. The faux fur hood trim (which can be zipped off if you so please), deep pockets, quilted lining and pull waist were just icing on the cake. I was so thrilled with the Ida, I couldn't wait to wear it. I waited throughout the months until finally, the weather was cold enough for me to put the parka to good use. And boy does it do the trick. We shot this look at one of my favourite places in the South Downs, Birling Gap. A sand and shingle beach that could, at times, fool you into thinking you were somewhere altogether more Icelandic. The perfect, fresh spot to wrap up cosy and feel oh so smugly snug.
